Feast of St. Michael🔗

Thurs- Sun | October 1–4

One of Cranford’s longtime fall traditions is back for four days at St. Michael School. Expect carnival rides, games, live music, food and plenty of family fun right in the heart of town.

Cranford Town-Wide Garage Sale🔗

Saturday, October 3 | 9 AM–3 PM

Start your Saturday with a little treasure hunting! Project Home of Cranford’s Fall Town Wide Garage Sale returns with sales happening at homes throughout town. A full list of participating homes — along with highlights of what you’ll find at each stop — will be available Friday evening before the sale.

The event is also a fundraiser for Project Home of Cranford, with registration fees benefiting Cranford Family Care and helping local families facing unexpected financial hardship.

Cranford Jaycees Oktoberfest🔗

Saturday, October 3 | 5–10 PM

The Cranford Jaycees’ Oktoberfest returns to Union College with live music, games, food trucks and, of course, plenty of beer and drinks on tap. This is definitely one of the more grown-up events on the fall calendar and also serves as a fundraiser for the Jaycees and the work they do throughout the Cranford community.

Cranford Street Fest🔗

Sunday, October 4 | 11 AM–5 PM

Downtown Cranford takes over North Union Avenue and Alden Street for the annual Fall Street Fest. Expect 100+ artisans and local businesses, food trucks, live music, kids’ entertainment and plenty happening throughout downtown. Admission is free and the event is family- and dog-friendly

Cranford Rubber Ducky Race🔗

Sunday, October 4 | 4 PM

And while you’re downtown for Street Fest, head over to Sperry Park for one of Cranford’s quirkiest traditions. More than 1,500 numbered rubber ducks race over the falls and down the Rahway River, with prizes for the first ducks across the finish line. Proceeds benefit Hanson Park Conservancy’s park maintenance and educational programs.

Cranford Porchfest 2026🔗

Saturday, October 10 | 2–6 PM

Porchfest is back for its 10th year! More than 40 musical acts will perform at porches, stoops and lawns throughout Cranford, turning neighborhoods all over town into stages for the afternoon. It’s completely free — just grab the schedule, walk or bike around town and stop to listen along the way.

19th Annual Scarecrow Stroll🔗

October 16–31

This might be the event that makes downtown Cranford feel the most like fall. More than 100 scarecrows created by residents, families, schools, organizations and local businesses will line the streets downtown, and everyone gets a chance to vote for their favorites.

And the Scarecrow Stroll has basically become the umbrella for a whole lineup of Halloween fun downtown. This year’s events include the Candy Stroll on October 17 & 18, the new Little Ghouls Candy Stroll for ages 5 and under on October 21, and the Howl-o-Ween Pet Parade on October 25 at 11 AM

Cranford Carve-Out & Parade of Pumpkins🔗

Saturday, October 17

Another Cranford Jaycees tradition: the Great Pumpkin Carve-Out returns October 17. This is always a fun one to see what Cranford residents come up with — and another reason October weekends around here fill up fast. The Jaycees have confirmed the date, with additional 2026 details still to come

Halloween Costume Contest, Parade & Pumpkin Chunkin’🔗

Cranford closes out the Halloween season with one of its best traditions: the Jaycees’ annual costume contest and parade, followed by Pumpkin Chunkin’. The Jaycees have confirmed October 25 for this year’s event; more details should be announced as we get closer.
