October is hands-down the busiest month of the year around here—and one of my favorites. Every weekend is packed with something fun to do, from street fairs and live music to family traditions and spooky celebrations. Here’s a look at October 2025 events in Cranford, Westfield, and beyond.

Date: Sunday, October 5, 2025 (Rain date: November 9)
Location: North Union Ave & Alden Street, Cranford, NJ
Cranford’s newest street-fair tradition is back! With 100+ artisans and vendors, live music, food trucks, and activities for all ages, it’s the perfect way to spend a fall Sunday. Admission is free and family-friendly.


Rides at the Annual Feast of St. Micheal's in Cranford

Feast of St. Michael🔗

Dates: October 2 – October 5, 2025
Location: St. Michael School Parking Lot, Cranford, NJ
This four-day carnival is a local favorite October Event, complete with rides, games, and plenty of food and drinks. There’s a lively beer garden and daily 50/50 raffles.


Cranford Town-Wide Garage Sale🔗

Date: Saturday, October 4, 2025
Location: All around Cranford
Clear out the basement—or hunt for treasures! Proceeds benefit Project Home of Cranford, so it’s a fun way to shop while giving back.

Beer, music, food, games, and friends—what more could you ask for? This annual fundraiser has become one of the best fall nights out, and it all goes to support local charities.

 


Cranford Rubber Ducky Race

Hundreds of rubber ducks float down the Rahway River in this lighthearted competition. Adopt a duck in advance to join the fun and support Hanson Park Conservancy.


Downtown Cranford Scarecrow Stroll

Downtown Cranford Scarecrow Stroll🔗

Dates: October 10 – 31, 2025
Location: Downtown Cranford
Over 100 scarecrows designed by local families, businesses, and organizations will line the downtown streets all month. It’s one of Cranford’s biggest traditions and includes tie-in events like the Candy Stroll, Witches Night Out, and the Pet Parade. AddamsFest 2025🔗

Dates: October 2025 (various)
Location: Westfield, NJ
Westfield goes all out each October to celebrate Charles Addams, the creator of The Addams Family. Expect a month packed with spooky fun—from Charlie’s Ale Garden to the Morticia & Gomez Masquerade Ball, film screenings, and the famous House Haunt Contest. One of Cranford’s most beloved October events! Local musicians turn front porches into mini-stages for an afternoon of live music all over town. It’s casual, family-friendly, and such a great way to enjoy the community.

Location: Hanson Park, Cranford, NJ
Take a stroll through pumpkin-lit paths to see incredible carved creations on display. Hosted by Jersey Central Art Studios, this event brings an autumn glow to Hanson Park.


Cranford Halloween Parade, Costume Contest & Pumpkin Chunkin’🔗

Date: Sunday, October 26, 2025
Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Location: Meet at the Cranford Library parking lot
A true Cranford tradition! Costumes are judged before the parade marches through downtown, ending at the gazebo for the always-hilarious Pumpkin Chunkin’. It’s a can’t-miss family event to wrap up the month.
